The Howard University Escape to Mecca Spring Break College Tour is back for 2016!
Now in its 13th year, the Escape to Mecca (E2M) Program is the longest standing and successful tour hosted in partnership between Chicago Peoples Union of Howard University and Chicago Public Schools. Together, we have exposed over 500 juniors and seniors to the “Mecca of African-American Education,” resulting in nearly a fourth of those students enrolling at Howard and over 80% enrolling in college overall! This program is lauded by The First Lady, Michelle Obama, and serves as a model for the White House “Near-Peer Campus Challenge” launched nation-wide!
The Howard University annual Escape to Mecca (E2M) Tour Program is a college experience designed to expose talented high school students from Chicago Public Schools to the greatness of the Mecca of African American education, Howard University by immersing participants in the educational, cultural, and social environment of the campus and D. The cost for Escape to Mecca is $150 including a $60 non-refundable deposit and requires a minimum booking of 40-seats in order to proceed!
