Elementary School

Students in kindergarten through 5th grade are receiving an introduction to computer science.  Through our partnership with Code.org, students are engaging in interactive lessons geared toward individual learning levels.

The curriculum is broken down into the following levels

Kindergarten – 1st Grade

(Early Readers)

  • Meaningful collaboration with others
  • Problem-solving and perseverance techniques
  • Internet safety

2nd Grade – 3rd Grade

(Beginning Readers)

  • ages 6+

  • Societal impacts of computing

4th Grade – 5th Grade

(Prerequisite 2nd-3rd grade course)

  • ages 6+
  • Problem decomposition
  • Functions
  • Nested loops and conditionals
  • Digital citizenship
  • Internet transmission methods
